Prior to his passing in 2013, Henry Frank Weeden, artist, sculptor, painter, candlemaker, American manufacturer and co-founder of ANA Design requested that a website be designed that would not only showcase the many talented American artists, artisans, crafters and manufacturers producing a quality American Made product, but also help to support and promote them.
In 1994, Frank and his sister, Elizabeth Barek, founded ANA Design, designing and manufacturing high-end designer candles. From the onset, they made the conscious decision to manufacture in the USA thereby investing in their community and creating American jobs.
In 2016, the All New American Made Artisanal Initiative Inc. (ANAMAI)(Website: AllNewAmerican.com), with 501(c)(3) status pending, was founded with the purpose of providing fuel, in the form of grants, for the small American business engine that powers America. ANAMAI embraces makers, creative entrepreneurs, community minded artisans and manufacturers that have made an investment in America.
It is the intent of ANAMAI to raise and solicit funds with the express purpose of returning those funds back into the maker communities who create quality American Made products of the highest caliber. The new creative economy is growing fast and is becoming an important economic sector as more and more American entrepreneurs are choosing a career path that embraces American jobs, sustainable materials, their communities and its people. Along the way, some of these small businesses need help in order to get to the next level while NOT sacrificing their artistic integrity or their support for ‘Made in America’ and all the components that go with that label.
This is where ANAMAI can be essential by offering restricted cash awards – to be used for equipment, for website upgrades, for trade show participation and more – to American companies and individuals whose business and work ethics meet ANAMAI’s grant criteria:
- Quality American Made
- Community Spirit and Development
- American Jobs
