Switchel, ginger-water or haymayker’s punch has been around for eons and, in New England, is thought of as a ‘Farmer’s Drink.’
This tasty beverage is traditionally made of some combination of water, ginger, lemon, apple cider vinegar, honey, brown sugar or maple syrup.
Please meet Ely and Garrett from South Londonderry, VT who, in 2012, decided to bring back this working-man’s drink under the name of Up Mountain Switchel.
No longer do you need to be a working farmer to be rewarded with this strong, lemon, apple cider vinegar witchy brew, with a hefty dose of ginger.
Ely and Garrett reinvented this age-old recipe to be the most versatile health drink there is. It has a kick without the caffeine, and a vast array of health benefits.
With a small bottling operation in a family barn, the two VT entrepreneurs began selling at many different local markets.
As Up Mountain Switchel grew,
Ely and Garrett joined forces with a 5th generation family run bottling facility just outside of Brooklyn, NY.
In the new facility, Up Mountain Switchel is able to make their award winning recipe the exact same way Ely and Garrett started, but fresher, cheaper and in new 16 oz bottles.
