"My Nonno, Joe Barbera, was born in Sicily in 1895. After serving in WWI he and his family immigrated to the United States in 1922 and settled in a small town in Pennsylvania. Here, my Nonno opened up a shoe repair shop. My America is found in the same craftsmanship evident in very pair of Mark Albert Boots that my own Nonno used in his shop."
A small footwear manufacturer in Somerset, PA made this week’s American small business and brand possible.
Please meet Mark Albert Barbera, founder of a new and exciting footwear brand, Mark Albert Boots.
The journey started with a search for the Chelsea Boot – an ankle-high slip-on with elastic side panels, made iconic by the Beatles in the 1960s.
Not finding what he was looking for, Mark decided to design his own. He pitched his idea to a small manufacturer in Somerset, PA.
Mark Albert Boots was born.
Each boot is handmade using Goodyear welt construction, a centuries-old process that waterproofs the boot and ensures that it lasts longer.
Today, the Mark Albert Boots brand has grown to include a stylish collection of Derby shoes.
Look your best in a pair of Mark Albert Boots!
