Finding inspiration everywhere from an alley way in San Diego
or a beach travel vacation
Lisa starts her patterns drawing small 4″ x 4″ squares.
A peek into Lisa’s artistic mind. The “Teton” pattern is Lisa’s interpretation of a “map” of her area and is dear to her heart. Taking inspiration from to her beautiful, wild, grand Wyoming
surroundings the process starts with a simple photograph.
Lisa transforms what she sees into an idea and creates a rough sketch.
A complicated pattern,
she uses paper cut-outs to help her lay it out without drawing the pattern over and over.
The “Teton” is created
on rolled canvas
and same, on cotton gauze making for soft and delicious swaddle blankets
and bamboo scarves.
Lisa uses fabric paint to hand stamp canvas.
All her textiles are screen printed
The screen printed fabric, which may require three prints to make a continuous pattern,
is then hung up to dry.
Once dry, Lisa moves into sewing mode making waxed canvas tote bags,
bamboo Infinity scarves,
and custom Yoga wear.
